Green Diamonds
Green Diamonds
Lab-grown diamonds are often called green diamonds because they are created without harming nature or the planet.
Modern jewellery should sparkle on the outside and be ethical on the inside. The way gold, diamonds, and other precious materials are produced affects people and the planet. Conventional gold mining and gemstone extraction can harm workers, local communities, and fragile ecosystems, while complex supply chains can hide unfair labour practices and fuel conflict. Independent research has shown that the way gold is mined and processed can have a significant impact on the day‑to‑day lives of those who extract it and on the environment around them. Fairtrade Gold initiatives exist because many small‑scale miners are vulnerable to exploitation. At the same time, lab‑grown diamonds provide an ethical alternative to mined stones; producing diamonds in controlled laboratory settings eliminates many of the environmental and social harms associated with traditional diamond mining.
We specialise in lab-grown diamonds because they offer the same fire and brilliance as mined stones without the ethical baggage. Lab‑grown diamonds are created in controlled environments, which reduces the need for disruptive mining and the supply‑chain problems associated with so‑called “blood diamonds”. According to jewellery experts, lab‑grown diamonds are prized for their environmental and ethical appeal and often come at a lower cost compared with mined diamonds. Every Doozy Diamonds stone is certified (IGI certificates) and tested to ensure authenticity and quality.
For our gold and platinum, we prioritize Fairtrade and recycled sources. Fairtrade gold ensures that everyone involved in the mining process is treated fairly. It protects workers’ rights, improves local communities, and ensures that mining practices are monitored to avoid unnecessary harm. More than 90 % of miners worldwide work in small‑scale artisanal mining. By choosing fair and responsibly sourced gold, we support these communities rather than perpetuate exploitation. Where Fairtrade gold is not available, we use recycled precious metals, giving existing gold and platinum new life and reducing demand for newly mined materials.
Our manufacturing facility must demonstrate safe working conditions, fair wages, and respect for workers’ rights. Small‑scale miners often lack the organisational structures needed to protect themselves. We follow stringent health‑and‑safety standards and prohibit child labour and discrimination. We routinely audit our supply chain to ensure these standards are met.
Reducing environmental impact is central to our sourcing decisions. Producing lab‑grown diamonds uses significantly less land and prevents the deforestation and habitat destruction associated with large‑scale mining. Our packaging is recyclable, and we minimise waste in manufacturing by reclaiming unused metals and stones.
